Vexels
Pick Vexels if the shortage is things to sell. Licensed, merch-ready artwork at around $9 a month is a legitimate way to stock a shop without drawing. Watch the download quota on the entry tier, since it caps how fast you can test.
These get compared because both are subscriptions to a library, and that is where the similarity stops. One gives you something to sell. The other gives you a way to show it. Subscribing to the wrong one is a common and expensive mistake.

Pick Placeit if the shortage is presentation. The scene catalogue is much larger and aimed at merch sellers specifically. Diarise the renewal date before subscribing; cancellation is the most common complaint against it.
Both hand you ingredients. Turning them into a listing set, once per product, is the step neither library shortens.
Vexels answers the question of what to sell. Its subscription buys finished, merch-licensed artwork with download quotas per month, aimed at sellers who do not draw. If your shop is empty, this fills it.
Placeit answers the question of how to show it. Its catalogue is scenes and models, and it assumes you already have something to put on the shirt. If your shop has designs but the listings look flat, this is the one.
What makes the confusion expensive is that both are monthly, both are marketed as libraries for print on demand sellers, and neither substitutes for the other. A seller with no designs who subscribes to Placeit gets beautiful photographs of nothing in particular. A seller with plenty of designs who subscribes to Vexels gets more designs they did not need. It is worth being blunt about which shortage you actually have before paying either.
| What you are comparing | Winner | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Something to sell | Vexels | Finished artwork with merch licensing. Placeit's catalogue has scenes, not the design that goes on the product. |
| Somewhere to show it | Placeit | The larger scene catalogue by a wide margin, heavy on lifestyle shots with real models. |
| Price to start | Vexels | From about $9 a month billed annually, which is the lower entry point of the two. |
| Being distinctive | Tie | Neither. Licensed artwork and licensed scenes are both licensed to every other subscriber, so both turn up in competitors' shops. |
| Leaving cleanly | Vexels | Placeit's one-star reviews are dominated by charges continuing after cancellation, which is not a complaint Vexels attracts at that volume. |
| Download limits | Placeit | Vexels meters downloads per month, and the entry tier is low enough to throttle how fast you can test new designs. |
Prices shown in USD from an Indian IP. Annual billing; the monthly figure is the annual price divided out, which is why it carries cents.
Page states billing is in USD regardless of viewing country. Headline price is the annual rate.
Our own pricing.
You need something to sell before you need a way to show it. Scenes cannot fill a catalogue.
The design exists and the presentation is the weak part, which is exactly what the scene catalogue is for.
Half of Vexels' value is artwork you would not use. Paying for a library you bypass is the common waste here.
Neither library reduces the number of times you assemble the same set of images by hand.

A print on demand design library first and a mockup tool second: finished, sellable artwork you licence rather than blank scenes you fill.

Print on demand sellers who want ready-made, licensed designs to sell and treat mockups as a bundled extra.

Envato's mockup and template library, sold as one unlimited subscription with the largest ready made catalogue of any browser tool.

Sellers who want the widest possible library of ready made scenes and are happy to compose each listing image themselves.
Total SCAM!Paypal - not working "temporarily".Used card to buy and image and when I tried downloading it it required a plan which would not load.
Generally a good experience using the site over the last few years, but so much difficulty cancelling now I want to end my monthly subscription. Tried to cancel for two weeks to no avail, even though I submitted a ticket for support about my issue over a week ago. So, to ensure that I'm not billed again next month, I accepted the 'free month' offer they share when you go through the cancellation process and then deactivated the automatic withdrawal on Paypal. Beware before signing up, because cancelling is not as easy as they make it seem.
After being duped into believing this was an easy way to create and upload POD merch, I now see after paying for a years subscription, it was a total waste of money! The content is elementary at best. There are virtually no editing tools and the entire platform is anything but user friendly. This is totally useless! Yes, I'm Pissed!!
Its not free! Why you write "free" when you have to pay to download mockup? 0 STARS!!!!
Which do you have less of right now, designs or good listing images? That is the answer.
Do you draw your own artwork? If yes, most of one of these is a library you will never open.
How many new designs a month? Vexels meters downloads, and the entry tier is low.
Is the problem assembling the images repeatedly? Neither library changes that number.
Both of these solve a supply problem: one supplies artwork, the other supplies scenes. Neither touches assembly, which is where the repeated hours actually go. Once you have a design and a scene, the listing images still get built one at a time, with the title, the size chart and the logo placed by hand, and then again for the next product. That is our part. Describe the set once, drop in each new design, and get the finished images back. If your shortage is genuinely ingredients rather than assembly, these two are the right shelf.
Vexels licenses artwork to put on products. Placeit licenses scenes to show products in. They are complements rather than substitutes, which is why comparing them on catalogue size misses the point.
Some sellers do, if they neither design nor photograph. Most have one shortage rather than two, and paying for both when you only have one is the usual overspend here.
No. Licensed artwork is licensed to every other subscriber, so the same designs appear in other shops. That is the trade for not having to create them.
Vexels starts lower, from about $9 a month billed annually. Compare on the specific quota you need rather than the headline, because Vexels meters downloads per month.
Neither. Both supply ingredients, and the images are still assembled by hand once per product. That repetition is what Custom Mockup Generator handles, independently of where the artwork or scene came from.
Describe your listing set once, then drop in each new design and get the whole set back with your title, size chart and logo already in place.
