Can I put a company logo on the tote instead of artwork?
Yes. Branded totes are mostly logo work rather than large prints, so keep the mark centred on the front panel and well clear of the handles. A small logo on natural canvas is also the case where the warm cream of unbleached cotton shifts brand colours most, so check it before ordering.
What size should a tote bag design be?
12 × 14 in at 300 DPI covers a standard shopper face with room to shift the artwork up or down. Going edge to edge is rarely a good idea: most printers cannot reach the side seams, and the handles cross the top two inches.
Why does my design look off on natural canvas?
Because natural is not white. Unbleached cotton is a warm cream, so anything designed against pure white will look slightly yellowed on it, and pale artwork loses contrast. Check it against the black or white canvas if the design depends on a clean background.
Can I print on both sides?
Yes, and it is worth photographing both. Most printers charge each side separately, so it is a pricing decision as much as a design one. Generate each side as its own image rather than trying to show both in one shot.
